Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Core Principle: Your Data Stays on Your Machine
EXITON FMEA is designed as a local-first application. Your schematic files, BOM data, netlist information, and generated DFMEA outputs are processed entirely on your computer. We do not collect, transmit, or store your design data on any external server.
2. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect: schematic files or their contents, BOM or netlist data, DFMEA analysis results, component information or circuit topology, any intellectual property related to your designs.
3. What We May Collect
With your consent, we may collect minimal anonymous usage telemetry (e.g., app version, OS type, feature usage counts) to improve the software. This telemetry contains no design data. You can disable telemetry in the application settings.
4. Cloud LLM Option
In a future release, you may be able to use a cloud-based LLM API (optional, not default) for enhanced analysis. If enabled, component and circuit context data would be sent to the LLM provider according to their privacy policy. This feature will be opt-in and disabled by default. The current version performs all analysis locally without any LLM.
5. License Verification
Pro license verification may require periodic network communication with our licensing provider (Lemon Squeezy). This communication contains only license key data, not design data.
6. Third-Party Services
Future versions of the Software may integrate with third-party services (local LLM runtimes, cloud LLM APIs) at your discretion. Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. EXITON is not responsible for the data handling practices of these services.
