This is Windows SmartScreen, a security feature that warns about software from new publishers. EXITON is safe to install — our code is open for inspection and runs entirely on your local machine.

How to proceed:

1. Click "More info" on the warning dialog
2. Click "Run anyway"

This warning appears because we are a new publisher without an Extended Validation (EV) code signing certificate. As our user base grows, SmartScreen will learn to trust our software automatically.

If you see this Gatekeeper warning, right-click (or Control-click) the app and select "Open" from the context menu. You will see an option to open it anyway. This only needs to be done once.

Our macOS builds are signed with an Apple Developer certificate. If you still see this warning, please contact us.

Windows: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). WebView2 runtime required (included in Windows 10 1803+ and Windows 11).

Internet connection is required for license activation. Normal usage works offline.

When you first install the app, a 30-day free trial starts automatically. No credit card required. During the trial, all features are unlocked with no component limits.

After the trial ends, the app switches to Free mode (limited to 20 BOM components per project). The app never stops launching — you can always use it.

After purchasing, you will receive a license key via email from Lemon Squeezy. To activate:

1. Open the app
2. Go to Settings (gear icon)
3. Paste your license key
4. Click Activate

Once activated, all component limits are removed. Your license works on up to 5 devices.

Yes. Internet connection is only needed for initial license activation. After that, the app works fully offline. Periodic online checks may occur to verify your subscription status, but the app will not block you if you are temporarily offline.

You can cancel anytime through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal (link in your purchase confirmation email). After cancellation, your paid features remain active until the end of your current billing period. After that, the app returns to Free mode (20 component limit).

Because we offer a 30-day free trial with full functionality, we generally do not issue refunds. However, we will address issues like duplicate charges, failed license key delivery, or critical technical bugs that prevent use. Contact us within 7 days of your payment.

No. All processing happens locally on your machine. Your schematics, BOMs, and FMEA data never leave your computer. The only network communication is license key verification with Lemon Squeezy.

No — it is a review draft. EXITON generates a high-quality starting point based on AIAG & VDA FMEA Handbook (1st Edition, 2019). However, all output must undergo cross-functional review, validation, and approval by your team before submission to customers, regulators, or auditors.
